Diversified Ridez was founded in 1994 by 3 friends with a common interest, custom vehicles. Tired of being negatively stereotyped by police on their local cruising scene, these three friends decided to start a club to bring together other people with the same interests, to promote a positive image of themselves to the community, help each other build custom vehicles, and to have fun while doing it. Noting that each of them owned a different type of vehicle and they enjoyed custom vehicles of all types, they decided on the name Diversified Ridez. The "z" was added to Ridez to give it our own signature.
In the beginning, Diversified Ridez began making impacts locally by attending local car shows, holding car washes and even organized and put on two car shows to raise donations for local charities. This quickly evolved into assisting the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Roanoke Valley Car Show Committee in putting on the annual MDA Car Show.
(In 2008, we will actively be helping to put on the 2008 Spring Showdown, in Roanoke, VA, on March 22, 2008. Details about these shows can be found on the following websites: www.mdacarshow.com and www.springshowdown.com respectively.)
In its second year, Diversified Ridez expanded geographically and formed chapters in Roanoke, Lynchburg, and Pulaski. however, it became difficult to maintain the club's reputation of admitting true custom vehicles and for members to stay in touch. The decision was then made to reconsolidate into one club.
Club members frequently travel to car shows all over the east coast and have built many award winning vehicles. Four members have even had vehicles featured in national magazines, ranging from Lowrider to Minitruckin' and Streettrucks to Honda Tuning. Currently, the club meets once a month to discuss possible new members, make plans to attend car shows, enjoy club/group functions, and to maintain friendships.
Diversified Ridez is ALWAYS seeking new members with custom vehicles and a positive attitude who want to have fun doing it!!

Mission:
To bring together a group of people who share the same interest in his/her car or truck. To promote an excellent public outlook toward the custom car/truck scene. To respect and earn the respect from other clubs, communities and even the law. To have fun, meet new friends, and to show his/her vehicle. This is why Diversified Ridez was founded. |
